Velociraptors
This was the first of many fast-paced projects that I was working on for the TikTok campaign.
I was tasked with the creation and animation of the dinosaurs. Since we were shot on time, I found a suitable model which was already rigged, unfortunately, the rig didn’t fit our needs, so I had to partially re-do it.
After it was done, I was happy to jump to the character animation. It was the most challenging and rewarding part of the whole process. I am not a character animator, but it was an amazing experience and I really enjoyed working on it.
This was a fun one. I had to create a small swarm of fish gracefully swimming in the sky. Since we didn’t have much time with this one either, I decided that rigging and animating all of the fishes wont be a great idea, alternatively making the fish follow the spline path looked ruggish as well. That’s where Blender’s geometry nodes came in handy, I followed a quick tutorial that helped me understand the setup and controls needed for my particular case and I’ve been able to do it all fully procedurally.
‘Pie in the sky” was one of the easiest and quickest one. The whole process was very straightforward. I found a great rigged wings model, animated them and attached to the box.
For the “Magic Plant” animation I went for C4D, I think that cinema is an amazing tool for this type of animation. The plant growth was made with a simple spline, cloner and some mograph tools. I used Redshift for the materials and lighting, which is my main render engine of choice.
